Alpaca Spring Fling April 2, 2022!

                        Celebrate Spring with Alpacas!  Our First Annual Alpaca Spring Fling will be Saturday April 2, 2022 from 1 to 5pm!  Lots of activities for the kids, Easter Egg Hunt at 3pm!  Make a Nesting Heart!  Make a pot and plant seeds!  Games!  Pony Cart Rides!  (If the weather requires, we’ll reschedule — check back for updates or call Jean at 419 560-0780)

Summer Workshop Schedule

Summer workshops will be held at Shady Lane Alpaca Farm 3073 Gass Road Lexington Oh 44904. Call Jean McClintock @ 419-560-0780 or email jsmcclintock@mac.com to reserve your spot.  May 16, 2021 Steamed Buns/Spring Roll Workshop    Make steamed buns and spring rolls from scratch, in the Phillipine style, and load them up with delicious meat and veggies! You will see how to make the dough, prepare the filling and how to cook them properly. Beginning Blacksmith Workshop

Sunday, July 26, 2020 12:30 PM. You will use a gas forge to make a hook for a hanging planter, and another special item.  All materials are provided.  Please wear cotton clothes and closed-toe shoes, you will be working with red-hot metal!   In order to work safely, we limit the class to 6 participants.  This class is prerequisite to the Intermediate class which follows at 3:30pm.  You can sign up for both classes, each have a separate fee. Alpaca Ornaments and Essential Oils – October 29, 2017 Learn how to turn alpaca fiber into fun ornaments for the Holidays. Plus you’ll learn about different essential oils and how to use them with the ornaments that you make. COST: $10.00 includes all materials for the class. Register by 10/27/17 Needle Felting with Alpaca Fiber – November 26, 2017 Learn how to needle felt on clothing, make a penguin and an ornament. All materials are furnished for the class and you’ll learn how to use felting needles and fiber to make wonderful gifts for you and your family. COST:

Alpaca Farm Days

Open House September 30 and October 1, 2017 Stop by the farm and see our alpacas, and other beasts Saturday September 30 from noon to 6 pm; or Sunday October 1, from 1pm to 6 pm.  The farm store will be open with Halloween crafts, alpaca goods, antiques, hand-made jewelry, gourds and gourd craft, and imported crafts from Mexico, Peru, and around the world.  We have pumpkins and ornamental squash for sale.  Refreshments and door prizes!

The Shady Lane Farm Store will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays thru Dec 18, 2016.  Fridays and Saturdays 9-6; Sundays 1-6.
